‘Udta Punjab’ is a Bollywood movie directed Abhishek Chaubey starring Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Diljit Dosanjh in lead roles. Since the movie makers released the movie trailer, critics attacked the movie and stated that the movie shouldn’t be released. It shows that the film deals with the drug problem in Punjab. The movie had also faced a lot of problems at the censor.

The censor board had advised the makers to chop few scenes. As everything is going well, the problem turned into a political one when the film tribunal watched the movie and told the makers to drop the word ‘Punjab’ from the film’s title.

The reviewing Committee watched the film and said the whole idea of the film being based on rising drug addiction among the youth is ‘defamatory’ to Punjab. Here comes Sensational director who took on this issue and gave few suggestions.

According to filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, he feels the film’s title should be changed to Udta India or Udta World. He posted a tweet saying: “For what it actually represents Udta Punjab Is diminutive… A more truthful and righteous title would be Udta India or Udta World.”

The filmmakers say that the film is still under process for certification and it is expected to release on June 17.
