Saala Khadoos Box Office Collections – Madhavan’s Film Earns Rs 9.3 Crore In 1st Weekend
R. Madhavan’s ‘Saala Khadoos’ movie which was released on January 29 has collected average openings. Madhavan who had all his heart set ad worked so hard for the film doesn’t seem to have impressed the audience to a great extent. Though the film opened to positive reviews, the film didn’t reach the audience as it is a launch pad of real life boxer Ritika Singh.
The movie brought a new subject that did not stand up to the mark and expectations of the fans. Saala Khadoos earned a mere Rs. 1.28 cr on the first day of its release. The movie released in Tamil Nadu earned Rs. 91 lacs and the total collections of the movie on its release day are Rs. 2.19 crores. The second-day collection of the film were Rs. 2.09 cr and Rs. 1.45 cr from its Tamil version. Rs. 3.54 crore was collected on the second day.

With positive word of mouth, the film picked up well and collected Rs 3.6 Cr on the third day. Hence, the film totally collected 9.3 crores on its first weekend (3 days) which has been average. Though R Madhavan and the makers of the film have been promoting the movie extensively all over, the film has collected decent collections which were not up to the mark.

The film, which clashed at the box office with Sunny Leone’s Mastizaade, seemed to have been affected by its contemporary. One of the critics wrote that “From frame one, ‘Saala Khadoos’ seals the possibility of surprises. Everything is by-the-numbers, and you can pretty much predict what’s going to happen next. That’s what stops the film from rising above the ordinary, despite the fresh faces of the two girls who have leading parts, as well as the more experienced, bulked-up turn from R Madhavan.”
