Shah Rukh Khan Is Not Part Of ‘Ram Lakhan’ Remake

One of the most memorable movies of 1980s, Ram Lakhan, was a perfect blend of emotions, action, comedy, drama and romance with Jackie Shroff and Anil Kapoor in lead roles. Now filmmaker Karan Johar is all set to produce the remake of this film in association with Subhash Ghai’s Mukta Arts and it will be directed by the super successful Rohit Shetty.

Karan Johar is happy with the excitement surrounding the remake of Subhash Ghai’s 1989 film Ram Lakhan, but rumours surrounding its cast have left him troubled. He says the actors are not yet locked.

All of you know that Shah Rukh Khan & Rohit Shetty are good friends. Though they have worked together in blockbusters like “Chennai Express” and the latest release “Dilwale”, superstar Shah Rukh Khan says he won’t be starring in director Rohit Shetty’s next.

Shah Rukh Not Part Of ‘Ram Lakhan’ Remake

“No. I don’t think I am cast in the film. I wish him (Rohit) all the best,” Shah Rukh told reporters at the red carpet of Stardust Awards here.

The 50-year-old actor said he was happy with the response of “Dilwale” even as the film faced protests from certain political parties.

“I am very happy (with the response) I want the families to go and watch as there were 2-3 places where they couldn’t watch it. Hopefully, things will be better in 4-5 days and more people will come and watch the film.”

“Dilwale”, which also stars Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, is doing good at the box office. Shah Rukh believes the film has reached its target audience.

“Popular films, blockbusters, in your face masala films… are beyond critical or artistic acclaim. Some critics have liked the film and some have disliked. “These movies are made for a target audience and as long as they are liking it I am happy.”
