6.7 Magnitude Earthquakes Strikes In North India New Delhi NCR Punjab Pakistan

Earthquake shook buildings in New Delhi on Monday afternoon. People were seen coming out of buildings in Delhi. Tremors were also felt in Kashmir valley and other parts of north India. The tremor was also felt in various parts of Pakistan including Islamabad, Faisalabad, Mianwali, Peshawar and Sargodah. So far, there are no reports of any loss of lives or damage to property. The Indian Metrological Department (IMD) has put the quake magnitude at 6.2.

Panic-stricken people ran out of homes and offices as buildings swayed in Kashmir. The epicenter of the magnitude 6 quake was 88 kilometers (54.68 miles) from Feyzabad in Afghanistan, at a depth of 209 kilometers (129.87 miles), the US Geological Survey said.

Earthquake hits Afghanistan, tremors felt in North India & Pakistan:

A 5.7 magnitude quake rocked Afghanistan with tremors being felt in several parts of North India and Pakistan. In India, tremors were felt in Noida, Delhi, Srinagar, Punjab, Haryana and other areas around 3.30 pm. The epicentre is reportedly Hindu Kush near Afghanistan.

As per the USGS, the 5.7 magnitude earthquake struck at 3:35 pm. It was epicentred 34 kilometres west-southwest of Ashkasham in Afghanistan, or 287 kilometres northeast of capital Kabul at a depth of 223.1 kilometres.

As per TV reports, a 6.1-magnitude quake hit northern Afghanistan border. The tremors came shortly after an earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter Scale rocked Nepal this morning. Tremors were felt as far as Lahore, Islamabad, Srinagar and New Delhi.
