Facebook Introduces New Tool that Makes your ‘Breakup’ a Lot Easier

Breaking up is really very difficult to do. But, Facebook has made it easier by introducing new tools to get over your ex. Facebook now tries to ease some of your heartache of breakups with a new tool. As we all know, Facebook is a place where most of the people get connected with their beloved ones and friends which might sometimes lead to a relationship. We heard a lot of news that Facebook has united many people which ended into a wonderful relationship. But now, Facebook is trying to lessen your pain of breaking up with someone with a new tool.

Facebook's New Breakup tool

Facebook has come to the rescue of those who have been through a breakup, by providing tools that will let you avoid your partner completely the next time you log on to the social networking website. Facebook has announced a new feature on Thursday that allow people who have split up with a spouse or partner to change on an option that forbears them from the emotional agony of continually seeing their ex-lover’s posts and pictures in their news feed on the world’s largest social network.

Facebook Rolls Out New Breakup Tool

Facebook has rolled out a new tool that helps you to break up with your partner along with their memories completely. Users who recently turned their relationship status will soon see a prompt that will guide them about how to use the new tools. They will be directed to that new tools only if they wish to. The new breakup tools can also be accessed from your smartphone that allow a user who has gone through a rocky patch to “take a break” just by simply blocking all notifications from your partner. The notifications include comments, posts and updates of your ex-partner.

Facebook also introduced another tool that allows you to visit your partner’s account only if you wish to. After changing their relationship status on Facebook, people will also be allowed to remove their names from past posts linking them to a former partner.

“This work is part of our ongoing effort to develop resources for people who may be going through difficult moments in their lives,” Facebook product manager Kelly Winters wrote in a blog post.

Facebook has introduced these tools that allow you to perform all of the above without having to unfriend or block them. Your Ex will not know about your filters that you’ve turned off notifications from them. The tools also let you work the other way by lessening your own visibility on Facebook for your partner. Your new posts will also be hidden to him/her. Even your past posts will be hidden from your partner who may be holding an eye on you.

As of now, Facebook has rolled out these tools only for the users of Facebook in the US. There is no word about when they will be enabled for users all over the world.
