A UPS driver from the United States of America has adopted their favorite dog on their delivery route after knowing that their owner has passed away.
Such a heroic act.
In 2016, Katie Newhouser, a UPS delivery driver, met Leo in an apartment complex in Rancho Cucamonga, California.
Katie said that Leo loved her from the beginning and would run to greet her every time she drove by the complex.
But that was not it.
Leo loves taking rides in cars, and every time she would pass by the dog wanted to get inside, unfortunately, that was not possible because of the restrictions her job has for her.
Katie said that Leo would wait inside her truck, but Katie never took him with her.
One day, Katie spotted Leo walking with his human mother.
Despite the bond that she had with Leo, Katie had never met the mother of the pooch and after seeing her, she decided to introduce herself.
She ended up having an amazing relationship with Tina, the owner of Leo. Sadly, something bad happened to Tina and the worst thing about this is that Katie was not informed about it.
One day, Katie came back from a vacation and saw Cannon, the son of Tina, loading the belongings of Tina in a truck.
At first, she did not think much about it because Tina mentioned that she wanted to move out of the house and go somewhere else.
Katie realized something was off when Tina was not answering any of her calls.
She then used social media to check out on Tina, and while doing so, she got to know that her friend was no longer alive.
Katie knew that the son of Tina was joining the Marine Corps, so she was worried about what would happen to Leo.
She ended up contacting Cannon and offered to keep an eye on Leo while he goes on training.
Cannon happily accepted her offer and Katie went to the house the next day to pick up the dog.
Cannon said that he was planning to bring the dog to a shelter if no one was willing to take care of him.
The woman came to pick up Leo while she was driving the UPS truck and the dog recognized her right away!
She ran towards her and leaped on the front seat of her truck.
Katie, who owns 2 other dogs, was initially worried about how her pack was going to handle the latest addition, but after bringing the dog to their house, Leo and the other dogs had no issues with each other.
Katie said that Leo still misses Tina and cries thinking of her.
Tina said that the dog was whining for his mother for the first few nights and she said it just broke her heart because there was nothing she could do about the horrible suffering.
The good thing is that Leo is in good hands now.
