Rhubarb, Promising New Weapon In The Arsenal Of Anti-Cancer Foods

A team of University researchers from Emory in Atlanta (USA), American research institutes and Peking University in Beijing (China) found rhubarb  has a pigment capable of inhibiting a protein already known and essential to the growth of tumors.

The researchers worked from a concentrated formula of this pigment called expired physician parietin gold and giving rhubarb stalks its red color.
In the laboratory, the chemical concentrate was added to leukemic cells. The results showed that after 48 hours, 50% of them disappeared.
