Shamli, Uttar Pradesh: A 14-year-old girl was raped and murdered in Shamli District, Uttar Pradesh on the evening of Monday.

According to Rajesh Kumar Tiwari, A circle officer at the Gahripukhta Police Station, the dead body of the 14-year-old girl was found in an agricultural field in Kailshikapur, Village.

Officer Tiwari said the dead body of the girl was found with a “dupatta”, which is a piece of cloth.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the 14-year-old girl was raped and was strangled to death with the dupatta.

The girl went missing after her father told her to bring her lunch from their house.

When the family realized she went missing, they decided to register a complaint at the local police station.

While investigating, the police found the dead body of the girl in an agricultural field near the area.

The dead body of the girl was sent for an autopsy.

An investigation has been launched to find the person behind the crime.
