The dead body of a 17-year-old boy was found in a stone quarry near Chakan on 3 May, officials said that the boy went swimming with his friends in the stone quarry. The dead body of the teen was recovered by the NDRF (National Disaster Response Force).

The 17-year-old boy has been identified as Gautam Sudhir Nishthur.

Officials said that the teen went swimming in the stone quarry with his friends.

The friends of the teen tried to rescue him when they saw him struggling in swimming, but they failed and he drowned to death.

The police were informed about the incident and when they reached the stone quarry near Chakan, they launched a search and rescue operation with the supervision of an NDRF team.

The dead body of the teen was pulled out by the divers of the NDRF team. The police said that his body has been sent for an autopsy at a district hospital in Pune.

The police have also launched a probe for the incident.
