On 15 August, the Prime Minister unfurls the Indian flag on the ramparts of the historical site, Red Fort in Delhi. After the flag hoisting, national Anthem (JANA GANA MANA) is recited. . Twenty-one gun shots are fired in honour of the solemn occasion. After that, a speech is given by the Prime Minister. In his speech, the Prime Minister highlights the past year’s achievements, raises important issues and calls for further development. During the celebration at Red Fort, many tasks including March past are performed by the Indian army and cultural events are performed by the school students. Millions of people participate in the Independence Day ceremony.

The celebration ceremony of 69th Independence Day of India Flag Hoisting by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narandera Modion 15th August 2015 at 07:00 AM IST. On 14th August 2015 at 07:00 PM IST, Hon’ble President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee address the nation on the eve of 69th Independence Day of India. Doordarshan

The President’s speech will be telecast by Doordarshan from 7 pm IST in English, followed by its Hindi version. Later, the address will also be broadcast in regional languages by Doordarshan’s regional channels.

All India Radio

All India Radio (AIR) will also broadcast the speech from 7pm IST onwards, while the regional language versions will be broadcast from 8pm IST.

69th Independence Day Celebration Highlights and Schedule:

India today celebrated its 69th Independence Day. Here are the highlights of Independence Day celebrations from across the country. Independence Day of India is being celebrated with full of trio colors adorned faces, governments and private public institutions, streets and all of the above national spirit among all the citizens. The ceremony at the Red Fort was comprised of March Past, band, unfurling of the National flag, singing National anthem, Prime Minister’s address, etc.

This year the celebrations went amidst the high security at Delhi Red Fort. National flag is hoisted by the Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi initiating National Independence Day celebrations at Delhi Parade. Two minutes silence was maintained in the memory of soldiers. It is a solemn reminder of the sacrifice of the martyrs who died for the country in the freedom movement and the succeeding wars for the defence of sovereignty of their country.
