Asus, the Taiwanese mobile electronics company has launched an affordable smartphone under the ZenFone series called Zenfone Go in India. Priced at Rs. 5, 299, the device is exclusively available online via giant E-commerce portal Flipkart. With an intention to hit the affordable smartphone market in the country, Asus has unveiled the Asus ZenFone Go 4.5 in India on Monday. After the overwhelming success of the Asus Zenfone 2 Laser 5, Asus is now expanding the Zenfone series with the launch of new Zenfone Go.

In the month of September this year, the company has launched the ‘lite’ variant to the Asus ZenFone Go. The device will be exclusively available on Flipkart and in retail stores from the second week of January 2016. The Taiwanese smartphone maker continues to have a balance between it’s high-end and low-end smartphone offerings, ensuring to aim both the ends of the market. Earlier this year, the company has launched the Asus ZenFone C in India at a price point of Rs. 5,999.

Specifications

The new Asus Zenfone Go 4.5 features a 4.5-inch FWVGA display with a pixel resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. The handset is powered by MediaTek’s MT6580M quad-core SoC clocked at 1.3GHz which is coupled with 1GB of LPDDR3 RAM. On the storage front, the smartphone includes an internal storage of 8GB which can be further expanded upto 64GB via microSD card. Users also get 100GB of free Google Drive storage which is valid for two years from the time of purchase. This will eliminate 5GB of free Asus Web Storage with lifetime validity.

On the camera front, the smartphone comes equipped with a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) sensor placed upfront. It is a dual-SIM smartphone that runs Android 5.1 operating system with Zen UI 2.0. In terms of connectivity, the device supports 3G, Wi-Fi, and other usual connectivity features. The Asus ZenFone Go 4.5 is backed by a 1600mAh battery. The company claims that the smartphone has the capability to deliver 10.9 hours of talk time and 355 hours of standby time on 3G network.

The Asus ZenFone Go 4.5 will be available in four variant colours such as Charcoal Black, Pearl White, Rouge Pink and Flash Blue. The giant E-commerce portal, Flipkart is offering some exchange offers for its customers on purchase of Asus Zenfone Go. which seems to be an interesting offer.
