Asus, the Taiwanese tech giant is all set to launch the much-awaited smartphone under the ZenFone range for the Indian customers. Asus is expected to launch the most advanced photography-focused smartphone namely ZenFone Zoom in India this month. If the rumors online are to be believed then Asus is anticipated to launch the ZenFone Zoom by the end of this month. The device is scheduled to enter the Indian market later this month. The company has announced in a statement on Tuesday that the new Asus smartphone will have 3X optical zoom with industry-leading camera features.

The new Asus ZenFone Zoom comes with pretty good specifications and features which are found on the ZenFone Zoom, the smartphone first rolled out at CES 2015. The company seems to design this handset for the photographer’s delight as the new device comes equipped with a unique hardware technology for the bright and sharpest pictures ever captured through a smartphone.

Last year, at the CES trade show, the handset made its debut and from the last couple of months, the Taiwanese company have been tipping regarding its launch in India. Specifications and Features

The Asus ZenFone Zoom features a 5.5-inch display with a pixel resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels which is covered with Gorilla Glass 4 for protection. The handset is powered by a quad-core 2.3GHz Intel Atom Z3580 processor which is paired with a 4GB of RAM. On the Storage front, the smartphone includes an internal storage of  64GB which can be further expanded upto 128GB via microSD card. The device runs the Asus ZenUI based on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system.

On the Camera front, the smartphone comes equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.7 to f/4.8-aperture. The rear camera features OIS (optical image stabilisation), laser auto-focus, 10-element lenses with 3X optical zoom and a dual-color Real Tone flash. On the other side, the device comes packed with a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper. The device has a thickness of just 11.95mm and the company touts that the ZenFone Zoom is the “world’s thinnest 3X optical smartphone offering up to 12X zoom-in effect.”

The Asus Zenfone Zoom measures 158.9 x 78.8 x 11.95mm and weighs 185 grams. In terms of connectivity, the smartphone supports GPRS/ EDGE, Bluetooth, 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi, and Micro-USB. The Asus Taiwan listing confirms that the ZenFone Zoom supports Indian 4G LTE bands as well.

Moreover, the listing of the company says that the handset supports single-SIM (Micro-SIM). However, we can expect the company to unveil a dual-SIM model in India. The device is backed by a 3000mAh battery. The smartphone also includes usual sensors such as accelerometer, proximity, ambient light, gyroscopic and digital compass. The Asus ZenFone Zoom will be exclusively available in two color variants such as Glacier White and Meteorite Black colours.

On Monday, the company has launched a new smartphone namely Asus ZenFone Max in India with a massive 5000mAh battery which is now available for Pre-orders via Flipkart and Amazon India.The handset is slated for a US release in February at $399, and the Taiwanese company will reportedly reveal further details of the smartphone availability by 20 January. The company has not yet revealed the details regarding the pricing and launch date of the Asus ZenFone Zoom smartphone in India.
