CAT Answer Key 2015:

The Common Admission Test (CAT) is a computer based test held in India. This test scores a person on the basis of quantitative ability, data interpretation, verbal ability and logical reasoning. The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) started this exam and use the test for selecting students for their business administration programs. The test is conducted every year by one of the IIM’s based on a policy of rotation. Common Admission Test (CAT) 2015 is conducted by the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad). Institute of Management Ahmedabad released the notification and invited online applications for the admissions into MBA programme. A large number of candidates applied and appeared for the examination which was conducted at various examination centers on 29th November 2015. 60 minutes allotted for each section, making a total of 180 minute test. To qualify in CAT, one needs to clear sectional wise cutoff as well as individual cutoff. The non-multiple choice questions did not attract any negative marking and were spread out across all three sections.

VARC contained 34 questions out of which 24 were MCQs and 10 Non-MCQs. Out of the 34 questions, the Reading comprehension (RC) part contributed the maximum share of 70% questions. There were 24 questions on 5 RC passages.

DI & LR was the toughest section with hardly any easy questions. In the QA and VA & RC sections the level of difficulty was similar as both the sections had easy to moderate questions. There was a fair mix of subjective questions – 8-10 per section. The Non MCQ questions had No negative marking.

The 10 questions on Verbal Ability part were based on only 3 major topics Jumbled paragraphs; para summary and picking out the odd sentence from a jumbled paragraph.
