The incident came to light only when Amir Siddiqui, a student of St. Joseph’s Public School, died of brain injury at a private hospital on Wednesday. Police registered a case on the complaint of Siddiqui’s parents, who reside in Masab Tank.
“Siddiqui and another student Shariyal had a fight at the school ground. Shariyal hit him on the head,” Deputy Commissioner of Police Kamalasan Reddy said.
10th Class student dies after clash with classmate:
Siddiqui was shifted to Kamineni Hospital, where doctors on Tuesday night performed a surgery to remove clot in his brain. However, the boy did not recover and died on Wednesday (Sep 2) morning. Siddiqui’s parents demanded immediate action against the student who is responsible for their son’s death.
The DCP said they were analyzing the footage from CCTV cameras installed in the school before taking further action. Police were not likely to take immediate action as the boy involved was a minor and the death appeared to be accidental.
