New Delhi: A 14 year old boy allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself to ceiling fan on his Birthday at his maternal aunt’s residence in northwest Delhi where he had come to celebrate his birthday. Because of his parents separation he is mentally depressed this tends to suicide, police said.

The boy, identified as Swamim, was a class IX student at a private school in Ghaziabad. His parents separated around nine years ago and he, along with his elder brother, lived at their maternal grandparents’ house in Delhi’s Welcome area, an officer said.

He was slept around around 12 AM after his cousins wished him on his birthday. Later, when one of his cousin’s woke up to drink water, he saw Swamim hanging from the ceiling fan. The boy shocked and woke his parents up, who rushed Swamim to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead docter report. Then the matter was reported to police officials.

His mother is based in Dubai, and his father in Delhi, he owns a photo studio in Delhi. In the process investigation Swamim had updated a status message for his Whatsapp account, wherein he written in his status as, that his friends were a great part of his life but he did not want to live in a world which was more obsessed with money than humans, police official said.

Police has taken Swamim’s laptop and mobile phone for further investigation. They are also investing his friends to ascertain what forced Swamim to take this extreme step. The body was sent for postmortem examination today, official said.
