Chinese smartphone manufacturer Gionee is all set to launch its new Marathon M5 smartphone in India on November 24. The company has officially announced that the Gionee Marathon M5 will be launched in India on November 24 at an event in Bengaluru. The company has already started sending out media invites for the event that will take place in Bengaluru. Earlier this year, Gionee has launched this smartphone in China.

The company has designed the smartphone with a powerful battery which is a highlight of this smartphone. The device is rumoured to be priced around Rs 20,000. The company also hinted that it is going to have an exclusive partnership with an E-commerce player. Recently, Gionee has launched its fourth smartphone under the Elife series dubbed as Elife S6 in China.

Specifications

The new Marathon M5 smartphone sports a 5.5-inch HD display with a 1280 x 720-pixel resolution. The handset is powered by a 64-bit quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor which is clocked at 1.5GHz. The device comes with 2GB RAM. In terms of storage, the device includes an internal storage of 16GB which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. On the Connectivity front, the smartphone supports the following connectivity options:

• Bluetooth
• A–GPS

The Gionee Marathon M5 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Amigo 3.0 UI on top. The smartphone comes equipped with a 13MP rear camera along with a 5MP front-facing camera. The main highlight for the smartphone is its battery life. The device is backed by a powerful 6020mAh Lithium-ion battery. It comes with two 3010mAh batteries which bring the total up to 6020mAh. The device is also capable of reverse charging, which means it can be used as a power bank to charge other devices.

The company claims that the battery will last up to 4 days. Gionee also states that the battery can last up to 62 hours with just 5 percent battery. The handset will be offered in three color variants such as White, Grey and Gold color variants.
