Laxman Death

Lord Rama directed Lakshman to guard the door of the room and said that if anyone entered the room during the conversation he will be put to death.

The old saint was Kala Deva, or Time, and he appeared to remind Sri Ram that the objectives of Sri Ram’s appearance on earth were completed and it was time for him return to Vaikunta.

Saga durvasa

While this conversation was going on Sage Durvasav, known for his anger, appeared outside the room and demanded that he wanted to meet Ram immediately. Outraged he said he would curse Ayodhya if he wasn’t allowed to meet Ram.

Lakshman decides to interrupt Ram and Yam, so as to avoid putting Ram in a situation where he’d have to kill the sage. Later, in order to fulfill his brother’s promise, Lakshman went to the River Saryu to give up his life. This is how Lakshman died in the end.

Lord Rama Brother Laxman’s Death

Sri Ram who came to know about the death of Lakshman decided that it was time to end his Avatar. He then handed over his responsibilities to his sons (Luv and Kush) and bid adieu to all. He then walked deep into the Sarayu River along with his brothers Shatrughana and Bharat. Together they drowned marking the end of their mortal avatars.

No wonder, Sesh Naag being the reclining couch of Lord Vishnu, it was necessary for Laxman to die before Ram.
