Huawei Announced Honor 5X to be Launched in India on January 28

Huawei, the Chinese smartphone manufacturing company announced that it is likely to launch Honor 5X smartphone in India on January 28. Honor, which is a sub-brand of Huawei is set to launch its next smartphone, the Honor 5X smartphone in India. The Chinese firm has announced the launch of its upcoming smartphone at the CES International Trades Show Event 2016.

The Chinese firm has already commenced sending press invites for the launch event that teases the upcoming handset as “Faster Better Stronger.” Honor, which is a subsidiary of Huawei targets to steal some of Xiaomi’s blast through inexpensive prices and online marketing, is officially launching in the US. The Huawei Honor 5X will be the successor to the Honor 4X smartphone, which was earlier launched in the month of March last year.

Specifications

The new Huawei Honor 5X was initially launched in its hometown China back in the month of October. The handset will be launched in two storage variants such as 2GB RAM and 3GB RAM. Priced at CNY 999 (approximately Rs. 10,200) and CNY 1,399 (approximately Rs. 14,300) respectively, both the handsets will be launched in India on January 28. It is a dual-SIM smartphone that supports dual-4G standby. Honor 5X smartphone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system with the Emotion UI 3.1 skin on top.

Honor 5X to be launched in India

The smartphone sports a 5.5-inch full-HD IPS display with a pixel resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The handset is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 SoC (four Cortex-A53 cores at 1.7GHz + four Cortex-A53 cores at 1.2GHz) which is paired with Adreno 405 GPU. On the storage front, the handset includes an internal storage of 16GB which can be further expanded upto 128GB via MicroSD card.

On the Camera front, the device comes equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, 28mm wide-angle lens, 5P lens, and Blue Glass IR filter. On the other side, the device comes packed with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture, 22mm wide-angle, 4P Lens, Blue Glass filter and a shooting range of 88 degrees come housed inside the smartphone.

Huawei announced Honor 5X launch at CES 2016

The Huawei Honor 5X is power-packed by a 3000mAh battery. The company claims that the device supports Quick Charge 3.0, which can charge up to 50 percent battery in 30 minutes. The smartphone sports a fingerprint sensor with the company’s latest ‘Fingerprint 2.0’ tech, which is said to unlock the handset in as little as 0.5 seconds. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the rear panel below the camera.

In terms of Connectivity, the Honor 5X smartphone supports Bluetooth 4.1, USB 2.0, GPS, A-GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and 4G LTE (FDD and TDD) connectivity options. The Honor 5X measures 151.3 x 76.3 x 8.15mm and weighs 158 grams. It is expected that the smartphone will be launched in two color variants such as Silver and Gold color variants in China.
