IIT HSEE 2016 Exam On 17th April: Check Cut Off Marks

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras scheduled to conduct Humanities & Social Sciences Entrance Examination (HSEE) on 17th April 2016. The Indian Institute of Technology Madras is a public engineering and research institute located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu and is one of India’s most prestigious institutes. It is recognised as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India. It conducts various examinations for admissions into various programs. HSEE 2016 Cut Off Marks, Merit List, Ranking:

Rank list will be prepared based on the aggregate marks obtained in HSEE-2016.

A common rank list made up of candidates who score at least 50% in HSEE-2016 will be prepared. Separate rank lists will be prepared corresponding to OBC (NCL), SC, ST and PwD categories.

Candidates of OBC (NCL) category must score at least 45% in HSEE-2016 examination in order to be in the OBC rank list. Candidates of SC and ST categories must score at least 25% in the HSEE-2016, in order to be in their respective rank lists.

A common rank list will be prepared for PwD candidates. To be in the PwD rank list, candidates must score at least 25% in the HSEE-2016 exam in aggregate

IIT HSEE Examination pattern:

The online written exam consists of two parts i.;e Part I and Part II.

Part I:

Part I consists of objective type multiple choice questions for 2½ hours duration (150 minutes), administered through computer and covers the following topics:

  • English and Comprehension Skill
  • Analytical and Quantitative Ability
  • General Studies covering the areas of Indian Economics (since Independence), Indian Society, Contemporary
  • World Affairs (post-World War II)
  • Environment and Ecology

Part II:

It involves essay writing for 30 minutes to be written on answer sheet distributed to the candidates at the end of part I. requires the candidate to write an essay on the general topic involving description, or/and reflection or/and discussion.
