Motorola Moto G (Gen 4), Moto G4 Plus To Be Announced on June 9

The allegedly rumored Motorola Moto G (Gen 4) smartphone and the Moto G4 Plus have leaked pretty much times recently online via videos and photos. The leaks suggested that the upcoming smartphone will have a major upgrade with the addition of a latest advanced fingerprint sensor. The current news is that the dubbed Moto G4 smartphone will finally see the light of the day soon in the month of June 9 this year.

According to some reports, during the launch of the Zuk Z2 Pro smartphone held on Thursday, the CEO of the company Lenovo Yang Yuanqing confirmed that Motorola will launch a smartphone on June 9. Zuk is one of the sub brand of Lenovo whilst the smartphone manufacturing company Lenovo has acquired Motorola from Google in late 2014.

However, the CEO of Lenovo, Yuanqing did not share any more details regarding the smartphone as to what the company will launch at the mentioned date. Despite the increasing number of leaks and rumours for the Moto G 4th Gen. and the Moto G4 Plus, it is possibly the company might launch one of the handsets.

Leaked Specs

Both the Moto G (Gen 4) prototype and the Moto G4 Plus leaked in a video and a photo separately. The leaked image shows the white-colored Moto G4 Plus comes with a square-shaped fingerprint sensor placed as a home button, a speaker grille, a front-facing camera, and the rear camera with flash and autofocus sensors enclosed in a pill-shaped module and a dimple with the company logo right below the camera. As per the leaked renders and live images, it is also revealed that the device is expected to be available in two color variants such as black and white color options only.

Currently, the rumours point to two Moto G handsets. Amongst the two smartphones, the Moto G (2016) is expected to sport in a 5.5-inch display, 13 MP camera and an internal storage of 16GB. The Moto G Plus is also expected to get similar hardware specifications with 5.5-inch display, a 16 MP camera and 16GB of internal storage with prices ranging from 280 Euros (approximately Rs 21,000).

According to the video published on YouTube, the alleged Moto G (Gen 4) is lacking the fingerprint sensor while it is seen on the Moto G4 Plus. The black-colored smartphone was compared with 2014 Moto X model and clearly seemed slightly bigger in terms of size than any other Moto G devices.
