Panasonic Eluga Mark With Fingerprint Sensor, 4G Support Launched in India at Rs. 11,990

Panasonic, the Japanese Electronics company has launched its latest smartphone namely Eluga Mark in India. Adding to its Eluga series, panasonic has launched this new Eluga Mark Android smartphone with enhanced IT-related security along with BYOD (bring your own device) compatibility for individual devices to work on secure corporate networks. One of the highlights of this smartphone is that the new Panasonic Eluga Mark comes with a fingerprint scanner located on the back of the handset.

Panasonic has launched the smartphone with notable features that support 4G LTE connectivity with India specific LTE bands support. Panasonic claims that the device enables you to configure up to 8 different fingerprints at a single time. The Panasonic Eluga Mark is priced at Rs. 11, 990 which will be available to purchase via online retailer as well as offline stores.

Announcing the new Eluga Mark smartphone, Pankaj Rana, Business Head, Mobility Division, Panasonic India said, “With the growing use of smartphones for a wider range of high-risk activities such as access to cloud data and private information, mobile security is a top priority for users. This control-sensitive device, which achieves complex tasks with the press of a finger or a swipe of the thumb, is personalized for the user and protects the smartphone investment. We are approaching an end of the year which brings our portfolio for 2015 to a total of 16 new devices launch with a few more to come.”

During the announcement of the new Eluga Mark, Rana also confirmed next year plans for Panasonic that it will focus on “Make in India” and 4G-enabled devices. He added that the company will target international markets and regions as well.

Specifications

Panasonic Eluga Mark features a 5.5-inch IPS display with a pixel resolution of 720×1280 pixels. The handset is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor which is clocked at 1.5GHz paired with 2GB of RAM. In terms of Storage, the device includes an inbuilt storage of 16GB which can be further expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. The dual-SIM based Panasonic Eluga Mark runs Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system.

On the Camera front, the device comes equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and it has a secondary a 5-megapixel front-facing camera on board. In terms of Connectivity, the new Eluga Mark supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, OTG support, Micro-USB. The smartphone is fueled by a 2500mAh battery. The device will be available in two colour variants such as Royal Gold or Metallic Grey colours.

The handset features standard sensors that include an ambient light sensor, accelerometer, e-compass, and proximity sensors. The company also claims that the handset features FitHome UI, which has been engineered by Panasonic and facilitates single thumb-flick access to apps on the home screen.
