2. Kal Bhairav Temple – Devotees Offer Whiskey (Liquor) to the Deity

Location: Ujjain city, Madhya Pradesh

Speciality: Kal Bhairav temple is a temple with utmost bizaree tradition. Devotees carry liquor bottles at this temple which is the main offering to the deity and in return, it is given as “prasad” to the devotees. You can also watch vendors selling wine bottles in the temple streets. The visitors say that, the deity drinks a bottle of liquor within few minutes and he is not finical about brands.

3. Karni Mata Temple – A Temple for Rats 

Location: Deshnoke,  Near Bikaner, Rajasthan

Speciality: You might have already understood the speciality of this temple. Karni Mata Temple is a temple of Rats. At every nook of the temple, you can find rats which are offered milk by the devotees. People consider the rats in Karni Mata temple as most sacred and they are revered by all the devotees who visit this temple. Rats are called as “Kabbas”. There is a strange rule that, if you kill any rat here, you must replace it with a rat which is made up of gold. 

4. Om Banna (Bullet Baba) Temple – Worships Royal Enfield Bullet

Location:  Pali district, Jodhpur

Speciality: Bullet baba temple is very strange in which people worship a bike. Devotees offers prayers to a 350cc Royal Enfield Bullet ‘deity’, which was a vehicle of a person named ‘Om Banna’. He died in an accident 20 years ago while driving his ‘bullet’. The bike is offered beer, of the ‘Bullet’ brand and is worshipped by many people. People also believe that, if you travel through the Pali-Jodhpur highway without visiting the Bullet Baba, you might not reach your destination safely.

5. Sonia Gandhi Temple – Congress leader worships Sonia as the Goddess of Telangana

Location: Mahbubnagar, Telangana

Speciality: To express his gratitude towards Sonia Gandhi, Congress leader Shankar Rao has built a temple. The leader worships the idol of Sonia and also has portraits of Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi which were hung outside the walls of the temple.

6. PM Narendra Modi Temple – Offers Prayers Twice a Day

Location: Gujarat

Speciality: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a temple dedicated to him in Gujarat. According to people, prayers are conducted twice in this temple, once in the morning and once in the evening. People from neighbouring villages also visit this temple and offers prayers to Modi.

7. Shaheed Baba Nihal Singh Gurudwara – Offers Toy Aeroplane to get a VISA

Location: Jalandhar, Punjab

Speciality: Are you struggling to get a VISA. Don’t worry! Visit this temple in Jalandhar. Shaheed Baba Nihal Singh gurudwara is totally flooded with toy plane by devotees who believe that this will help them get a visa. It is popularly known as ‘Hawaijahaj’ (aeroplane) gurudwara. It is not known in whose memory, this temple was built. 

8. Bharat Mata Temple – Bharat Mata ki Jai

Location: Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth Campus, Varanasi

Speciality: Bharat Mata temple is the only temple built in the memory of Bharat Mata (Mother India). It was built before the partition and honours the country, freedom fighters and leaders and was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi in the year 1936. The most peculiar thing about the Bharat Mata Temple is that instead of the customary gods and goddesses, it has a huge map of Mother India, carved out of marble.
