Royal Challengers Bangalore Captain Virat Kohli has been fined Rs 12 lakh in Indian Premier League game against Rising Pune Supergiants. Kohli and AB de Villiers smashed brisk half centuries to guide Royal Challengers Bangalore to a 13-run win over Rising Pune Supergiants here on Friday night. He was fined for Slow Over rate offences by IPL.

“Since it was his first offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Mr. Kohli was fined Rs 12 lakh,” the IPL said in a statement.

Sent into bat on Friday, RCB rode on De Villiers’ 83 off 46 balls with six boundaries and two sixes and Kohli’s 80 off 63 deliveries, during which he striked seven fours and two hits over the fence, to post 185 for five.
