Virat Kohli Will Be Suspended From IPL If He Commit One More Mistake
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Captain Virat Kohli has got one last chance to play in IPL. Virat Kohli was facing a tough time in this IPL edition. Despite excellent team, RCB lost many matches so far. Other than Captaincy, Virat Kohli is facing problem on slow over rate.
According to the Cricket rules, Captain has a certain time allotted to complete the overs. If he can’t do or follow the rules, he will be fined or sacked out of playing the next match. Even Virat is facing the same problem. Currently, Virat is at risk of facing one-match suspension after 2 offences of slow over rates.
For both the offences, Virat had paid penalties, 12 Lakhs for one offence on 22nd April against the Rising Pune Supergiants and 24 Lakhs for another offence on 2nd May against Kolkata Knight Riders. If he again does the same and receives 3rd offence, he would definitely be banned for one match from IPL and also had to pay a penalty of 30 Lakhs.
As per the IPL rule book it is said that “For the third and each subsequent offence (slow over rate) in a season as captain of the bowling team, the captain will be fined US$50,000 and banned from playing in the team’s next league match.”
Let us hope Kohli doesn’t repeat slow-over rate mistake again!
