Xolo 8X-1000i with 5-inch display, 2GB RAM Launched in India at Rs 6,999, Available for Purchase Via Snapdeal

Xolo, the domestic smartphone manufacturer has launched a new smartphone dubbed Xolo 8X-1000i today in India at an affordable price of Rs. 6,999. The smartphone is now listed on the company’s official website. The handset is also available for purchase on the giant E-commerce portal, Snapdeal for the same price. However, the company has not yet revealed the availability details of the smartphone officially.

Similar to the original Xolo 8X-1000 smartphone, the new 8X-1000i also runs Hive UI, which is the company’s take on Android. During the India launch of the Hive UI for Android, Xolo had touted that the firm’s custom ROM was “Made in India, Made for India” platform. Hive UI is based on Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system that comes with amazing features. Earlier this month, the company has launched a smartphone under its Black variant called Xolo Black with expanded memory space. 

Specifications

The new Xolo 8X-1000i smartphone comes with identical specifications to its sibling 8X-1000. The new 8X-1000i smartphone sports a 5-inch HD IPS display with a pixel resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels along with a pixel density of 294ppi. The device also sports Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. The Xolo 8X-1000i smartphone measures 140 x 70 x 7.9mm. The handset is powered by an octa-core MediaTek (MT6592M) processor clocked at 1.4GHz alongside Mali 450 GPU which is paired with 2GB of RAM.

On the storage front, the device includes an inbuilt storage of 16GB which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. On the Camera front, the Xolo 8X-1000i comes equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and Exmor R Sensor. On the other side, the device comes with a secondary 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

In terms of connectivity, the smartphone includes 3G, Wi-Fi, Micro-USB, A-GPS, GPRS/EDGE, and Bluetooth. The device is power-packed by a 1920mAh battery. The company claims that the handset delivers up to 11 hours of talk time and up to 352 hours of standby time on 2G networks.

In the month of July this year, Lava International, owners of the Xolo sub-brand stated that they would invest Rs. 100 crore over the subsequent 18 months to expand its Hive OS. The ‘OS’ is more a customization of Android, for its Xolo series of smartphones.
