The blue pit viper does look beautiful, however, it is amongst the most dangerous snakes in the world.
According to Australian Geographic, the blue pit viper belongs to the white-lipped island pit viper (Trimeresurusinsularis) group, which is related to the white-lipped pit viper (T. albolabris).
These types of snakes are commonly found in Southeast Asia, specifically in the Sunda Islands of Indonesia.
Another thing about this viper is that most of the white-lipped vipers are green, so the blue one that we are looking at right now is so rare.
Vipers are capable of using their appearance to attract prey and attack them with their deadly venom.
The venom that they carry is “haemorrhagic”, which causes extreme pain, swelling, necrosis of the flesh, and severe internal and external bleeding.
If you see a pit viper or any type of viper, move away and secure a safe distance.
