A wild deer that was found dead at a national park in Northern Thailand died because of having 7 kilograms of rubbish inside its stomach.

The heartbreaking news was confirmed by officials of the national park.

Officials from the Khun Sathan National Park said that they found underwear, plastic bags, instant coffee sachets, and parts of plastic rope inside the stomach of the wild deer.

The deer that died was a male.

It is believed that the deer had been eating plastic for a long time before it finally passed away.

On November 25, 2019, an officer that was on patrol found the 10-year-old male deer in the park.

The incident happened in the Khun Sathan National Park in the northern district of Na Noi.

Rubber gloves, instant noodles, small towels, underwear, plastic bags, and plastic ropes were just some of the materials that were found inside the stomach of the wild deer.

Kriangsak Thanompun, the director of the National Park, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department, released a statement about the incident, where they said:

We believed it had been eating those plastics for a long time before it died. Officials [believe] the plastics had blocked up its alimentary canal [but a] further investigation [will be] launched.

After the discovery, a three-phase plan was placed in law.

The plan is aimed at getting local people to collect plastics and other waste materials that are left near or in the national park area.

The plan will also help create a committee that will be focusing on waste management and educating the people on why they should not litter in the public, especially in the areas where animals are roaming freely.

This is just horrible, extremely horrible and we humans should be ashamed.
