A manhunt was launched by the authorities after the traumatized woman managed to free herself after being made a witness to the horrific murder of her boyfriend.

Carlos Sande Fidalgo, the suspect, was the one that the authorities were trying to find, however, their search came to halt after they got to know that he had committed suicide.

The incident happened near a small Portuguese village near the northern border of the country along with Spain.

The body of Carlos, a known real estate businessman, was found on the morning of Wednesday.

Authorities in Spain alerted the police in Portugal about Carlos, who is from Galician City of Vigo, after the brutal murder of a 53-year-old man in front of his partner at their rented house in Gondufe, which is 45 minutes away from the border in the Portuguese municipality of Ponte de Lima.

The dead man has been identified as Luis Miguel Fernandez.

The woman has been identified as Nuria Rodriguez Gonzalez.

The former husband of Nuria reportedly placed a GPS tracker on her car so that he could follower her movements after their split this year.

The police were alerted after the killer left the property and his ex.

Nuria is currently at the hospital getting treatment of the injuries that she caught in the horrible incident.

After committing the crime, the killer left the scene in the jeep of his ex-wife before deliberately crashing it near the property.

The killer then switched to a black BMW 740 that he owned.

The BMW was found near a bridge, and his body was found by coastguards participating in the search along with police.

The police said that the killer broke into the property of his ex and her new partner after tracking them down.

The police think the man acted out of jealousy as he could not accept the fact that their marriage had ended and his former wife had a new relationship.

The police said that Nuria and Carlos split in March.
