Donkey In Pakistan Arrested By The Police On Gambling Charges

The Pakistan police have arrested a donkey for being involved in a race that allows people to place bets on them.

The poor animal was arrested on gambling charges.

On social media, a video of the animal being tied up outside a police station while they waited to interrogate it has gone viral.

The video is pretty hilarious to be honest, realizing that the donkey CAN’T TALK!

Official reports suggest that the incident happened in the Rahim Yar Khan City, which is located in the Punjab Province of Pakistan.

Local police decided to question the 8 men on suspicion of gambling in public, which is considered as a crime in Pakistan.

It is believed that the men were placing bets on a donkey that was taking part in an illegal race.

The police arrested them and went on to arrest the donkey too because it was the one that took part in the race.

The police also recovered 120,000 Pakistani Rupees, which were being used to place a bet on the donkey race.

All nine of them, which include the donkey, were arrested on the basis of the prevention of gambling ordinance in the Punjab Province.

In Pakistan, it is illegal to gamble in public places.

If found guilty in the crime the penalty can be anywhere from 500 rupees to a maximum of 1 year in jail or in some cases both of them.

If found guilty of gambling in private facilities, the penalty can be higher.

Those that are convicted face a monetary fine of up to Rs. 1,000 rupees or 2 years in jail, and in severe cases, you can get both.

SHO of Rahim Yar Khan Police Station B Division released a statement about the arrest of the donkey.

SHO Khan said:

The donkey has been arrested as it has been named in the FIR along with other suspects. The donkey has currently been tied outside the police station.

Well, that is something that you don’t get to read every day.
