Another set of fun facts of 2016 are here, and this time it’s from Google. The search engine giant has shared the most important things that the Indians searched on Google this year.

Sonam Gupta has done it again. After ruling the social media through the year and made the fictitious character Sonam Gupta, very famous. However, she has crossed heights of popularity and has become the most searched person on Google.

Yes, you heard it right; she has secured the 3rd spot in the list of Google India’s most searched personality of 2016. Sonam Gupta, a fictitious person becoming the third most searched person is as crazy as it gets.

But interestingly enough, this character found its name among the likes of US President-elect Donald Trump who is placed at number one position and followed by Indian badminton star and Olympic medallist P.V. Sindhu at the 2nd position.

The main news is that ‘Bewafa’ Sonam Gupta has beaten actress Disha Patani, can you believe that? Disha secured the 5th position after Dipa Karmarkar, who was on the 4th. Even Sakshi Malik entered this list and featured among the top 10 most searched personalities.

Sonam Gupta’s entry on the 3rd position of Google India has indeed surprised everyone, isn’t it? The fictitious name which reportedly appeared on a torn Rs 10 currency note this year and was back on a new Rs 2,000 note after demonetization move took the internet by storm with the tagline “Sonam Gupta Bewafa Hai (Sonam Gupta is unfaithful)”.

Later on, she went viral on all platforms and maybe this is the reason why she has found the 3rd place.
