Delhi Slum Boy Got Selected To Be Trained At Olympian Usain Bolt’s Club In Jamaica

Olympics has always been the dream for Indians, and with the massive population our country has got, we should actually make it to the top five places. But, unlike China, India is doing it otherwise and there have been millions of questions regarding the ongoing sporting standards.

India has got thousands of athletes and all they need is some basic financial support. While the government is doing its so-called best in uplifting the youngsters we all have been seeing the results during every four years. Things are only getting worse with time and 2016 Olympics stats are well enough to understand the current day scenario. However, amid all this, we should be thankful with the amazing youngsters we got at this moment, it is sportspersons like PV Sindhu and many other people who are raising hopes for India’s future at Olympics.

Another Indian boy has recently joined the list and he is a young lad from Delhi slums. He is already breaking records in National level and if this streak goes well, he can undoubtedly emerge as India’s next medal-winning sprinter.

Amid all the speculations, this 15-year-old rickshaw puller’s son has successfully built a landmark for himself by racing his way into Usain Bolt’s club – an achievement what most teens may just dream about. Nisar Ahmed lives in a 10×10 feet tin shack near the railway tracks in the Bada Bagh slums of Delhi’s Azadpur area.

Very soon he is going to join the Racers Track Club in Kingston, Jamaica, home of eight-time Olympic gold medalist sprinter Usain Bolt. Nisar has been named in the 14-member contingent of budding young athletes who are selected to train for a training camp in Jamaica. Excited about the opportunity to train in Bolt’s club, Nisar said, “I am very excited to travel to Jamaica for training. I will learn there and one day will win a medal for the county.My father is a rickshaw puller and he manages to earn just 5000 per month, most of which is spent on my needs”.

Referring to the other needs and support, Nisar also expressed his desire to meet Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Rathore. “I want to meet Sports Minister so that I can ask him for support. I am sure if I will get the support I will do well.I am also training for Commonwealth Games trials and hope I will qualify”, Nisar said.

Meanwhile, Nisar’s childhood coach Surendra Singh, on the other hand, said that the young boy is extremely talented and that getting an opportunity to train in Jamaica will truly serve beneficial for him. “Nisar has amazing talent. I have seen him grooming day by day and the way he started his career is truly an example. Getting an opportunity to go to Jamaica is the biggest thing for him. I hope, he will do well”, Surendra said about the young lad.

Starting off his career at school, Nisar slowly and steadily went winning many national and school championships. He rewrote the Under-16 national record in the 100 meters after clocking a timing of 10.85 seconds at the 33rd National Junior Athletics Championships in November.

However, it is Nisar performance at the Delhi State Athletics meet in September which surely became a breakout in his career as he completed the run within 11 seconds winning the 100m gold.
