Parents Protests At Collectorate Over School Fee Hike In Hyderabad

Parents of school children and members of Joint Action Committee for School Fee Regulation (JAC-SFR) staged a silent protest in front of Rangareddy district Collectorate, demanding justice against highhandedness by school managements.

The protest was against dangerous trend by school managements in Hyderabad and Ramga Reddy districts, where students and parents who question school on various aspects particularly fee hike are being threatened.

Parents whose children have been studying in schools like St Anns, Pet Basheerabad, Amrita Vidyalaya, Mahendra Hills, St Andrews School, Bowenpally among others have protested on Saturday.

In another case, St Anns, Pet Basheerabad management have given Transfer Certificates (TCs) to seven students, whose parents have questioned management on exorbitant fees.

“Though we have approached various officials, no action has been taken till now. Government should rein in on the school managements, which are spoiling the future of students,” urged Aravinda Jata of JAC-SFR.

The protesting parents have requested the government to act against such schools and force them to comply with existing rules and regulations.
