Sonu Nigam Bashes Out At ‘Azaan-Muslim Call To Prayer’ On Twitter, Calls It As ‘Forced Religiousness’

Popular Indian singer Sonu Nigam has now curtained another controversy by making some eccentric statements on the ‘Azaan-Muslim call for prayer’. He boldly took on to his twitter handle and went tweeting how he’s offended by the religious contexts. He questioned the necessity of broadcasting the announcement on loudspeakers from mosques in public.

He quoted the act as ‘religious forcedness’, also called it as ‘gundagardi’

Nigam in his first tweet has said:

“God bless everyone. I’m not a Muslim and I have to be woken up by the Azaan in the morning. When will this forced religiousness end in India”.

According to the religious contexts, it is believed Azaan is the Islamic call to prayer given five times a day by the muezzin of a mosque. The first call is given early in the morning.

Further, in his final tweet, Nigam called the use of loudspeakers by mosques and temples as ‘gundagardi’.
