According to the sources, the woman was driving her red Toyota Yaris in Tobermory when she missed a right turn and drove straight into a boat launch that led to the Georgian Bay.

However, she is barely aware of the area and with that being a primary flaw, she is now poorly able to have a look at the road due to heavy rain on her way. In addition to that, she missed a right turn and ended up driving straight in the lake, merging slowly and steadily.

Coming to the details noted from the police authorities, the momentum of the car carried it past the shore as it sunk below the surface. The temperature of water was below 40 degrees Fahrenheit that made it all the more difficult for the woman to escape, meanwhile, her cellphone was inside the car and she didn’t let it go, she however managed to get it after a considerable struggle.

After switching herself away from the car, she swam across a distance of about 100-feet before reaching a local hotel from where she got some help from the folks around.

Earlier, such incidents involving GPS took place various times. In 2011, GPS helped a group of women land their SUV in a lake near Seattle. In 2012, a group of Japanese tourists in Australia went a step ahead and landed themselves in the Pacific Ocean and such cases may not be shocking to hear in future unless people prefer to use their common sense better than GPS.
