Ranjit Katyal, one of the most influential Kuwaiti businessmen who later saw himself as an Indian businessman, came to the rescue of the Indian government. Ranjit Katyal was an imaginative person. He was a deep asset for India and the last hope for thousands of Indians. Apart from the wealth, he had accumulated in the oil-rich country. The story of Ranjit Katyal was made a film called ‘Airlift’ starred Akshay Kumar.
The filmmakers revealed the first poster and the trailer of ‘Airlift’ today. Nevertheless, Akshay Kumar looks stunning and superb with his wonderful action. Living up to the theme of the movie, the first poster too is in dark shades with Akshay’s face been incorporated in the one of the wings of a plane. The film is all about the biggest evacuation of Indians based in Kuwait during the Iraq-Kuwait War.

The Indian government didn’t want to invite the annoyance of the international community by directly negotiating with Iraq and thus encouraged various alternatives to figure out a strategy on how to reach the Indian community and safely evacuate them from the conflict zones.
Ranjit Katyal was the person who arranged a meet between India’s external affairs minister IK Gujral and Saddam Hussein. Thus, the logistics for thousands of Indians to reach Amman from various parts of Kuwait was arranged by Ranjit Katyal. This cleared grounds for the evacuation operations to start.
