The trend of getting inked among the young Indian cricketers was started by Virat Kohli and moustache-twirling, Shikhar Dhawan, Stylish Long hair by MS Dhoni. Here are a few cricketers, who’ve announced their arrival with cool tattoos…

Check out how India’s cricketers decorate their bodies.

Virat Kohli:

India skipper Virat Kohli has his own style statement. He has a different personality that makes him stand out from rest of the Indian team members. Apart from his anger, excitement and energy, he is known for his tattoos. Kohli has four tattoos – he’s got his zodiac sign, Scorpio, on the upper right arm. On the same forearm, he has the Chinese symbol of faith.

On his left biceps, there’s a tattoo of a Japanese Samurai warrior, sword raised, which soon became the in-demand tattoo in India. The Japanese tattoo shows his confidence level in his personal and professional life.  He also sports a tribal design.

Shikhar Dhawan

Shikhar Dhawan and his wife, Ayesha, are self-confessed tattoo addicts. There is a Carpe Diem on the back of his left bicep, a tribal design on his right shoulder and another one on his back. And there is a bird on his left calf muscle.

Umesh Yadav:

India pacer Umesh Yadav has five tattoos on his left hand. Across the shoulder is a tattoo of Lord Shiva and below it is the Maha Mrityunjaya mantra.

MS Dhoni:

Mahendra Singh Dhoni was also a fashion icon for the youth in his early days. There was a time when India’s captain cool had long brown hair. When MS Dhoni made his debut for India, he had a very uncommon hairstyle for an Indian cricketer. He had long and brown hair that made him very popular among the fans.

Many Indians fans went for this new hair style set by MS Dhoni. It was like totally Dhoni’s trend at early days.

However, one thing that Dhoni doesn’t possess, but his mates do is wearing tattoos. Now, you may think that how does that matter or it’s not like a compulsory thing for sportsmen to wear.

Well, we agree that not having any tattoo is the least important thing to discuss, but the reason behind MS Dhoni not having one is surely interesting, or strange, we must say.

Well, it’s all a bit very funny but it happens with many of us too. As per reports, it has been said that Dhoni from his childhood is very scared of the syringes and gets frightened with even a mention of it.

So that’s the only reason why Dhoni hasn’t got any on his body. Even he admitted in an interview that whether it is in the doctor’s hands or a tattoo artist’s when it comes to handling syringes and needles he lacks the courage.

Now it’s hard to believe that Dhoni, whose name makes most of the batsmen and bowlers feel scared, is scared of the needles himself. But yes, it’s true!
