Delhi: Indian Woman From The US Runs Her Car Over A Man And Injured 2 Others
Police Report: A 21-year-old Indian woman from the United States of America was arrested after she allegedly runs her car over a man and caused injuries to 2 other men near the underpass in Moolchand in the southeast part of Delhi.
The person who passed away in the car accident has been identified as 24-year-old Mohammad Afaq, he is a resident of the Jakir Nagar.
The DCP (Deputy Commissioner of Police) of the Southeast, Chinmoy Bisawal, said that the accident happened on Saturday Midnight when three friends, who have been identified as Gaurav, Rudra Aashish Pandey, and Nitish were going back to from a wedding function that was held in Moti Bagh.
As they crossed the underpass in Moolchand, a tire of their car burst, they called a mechanic to replace the tire.
By 1:40 AM, as the mechanic was changing the tire, a car that was over speeding hit them.
The DCP (Deputy Commissioner of Police) of the Southeast, Chinmoy Bisawal said that the 21-year-old woman who hit them has been identified as Ananya Khurana, she ran away after hitting the 3 men, she is a resident of Lajpat Nagar. The DCP said that the mechanic who was changing the tire passed away due to the injuries he attained from the accident.
Ananya Khurana was arrested by the police on Sunday. The police took blood samples from her.
DCP Biswal said that the 21-year-old woman was returning from the airport, her friends were inside the car when the accident happened.
After the interrogation that was conducted by the police, 21-year-old woman said that she did not consume any liquor that day. A case has been registered under several sections of the Indian Penal Code.
21-year-old Ananya Khurana was a student in California, USA. Ananya came back to India in December 2018 and was thinking to start her own company. DCP Biswal added that the father of Ananya runs a garments business at Lajpat Nagar.
