Veteran actor, director and producer Dasari Narayana Rao has heaped praises on Anushka starrer ‘Rudhramadevi’ movie, movie’s director Gunasekhar, main lead Anushka, and the whole movie team during a recent Press Meet held at his home. Released worldwide on 9th October, Rudramadevi movie has received the super good response from all the fans and garnering huge collections.

Dasari Narayana Rao Garu, who watched the film on Sunday evening, has appreciated the film unit. On this occasion, a press meet was held. Speaking on the occasion, Dasari said, “I have watched the film on Sunday evening. It’s really an adventurous attempt to make a historical film when commercial films are trending. Yesteryear ‘Alluri Sitaramaraju’ and ‘Thandrapaparayudu’ are our history. Since 1987, no such film came till 2015. Now another historical film ‘Rudramadevi’ has come after 28 years. The idea of making such a film itself is a great thing. It really says how Gunasekhar handled the tough job of making such movies. At this point of time in the industry, even I would not have thought of making such movie. It is an appreciable thing that Gunasekhar himself has made the film when no investors came forward to produce the film.

Dasari said, “It’s everyone’s responsibility to encourage such films. Not only fans, even the film industry folks must encourage the movie. This is a very good movie. The youth must watch this movie and should get inspired. It is the story of Ferocious warrior Rudramadevi’s life. Rudhramadevi is the first queen to rule a kingdom in an era where woman are treated to be not eligible for ruling a kingdom. With the inspiration of queen Rudramadevi, a woman ruled Italy. Several queens have taken her as inspiration.”

“Anushka, who impressed the audience with ‘Arundhati’, has perfectly dwelled into ‘Rudramadevi’ role. I confidently say that she will join the league of great artists like Savitri, Jaya Sudha, Vanishree, Sujatha, and Jamuna. If there is no Anushka, there is no ‘Rudramadevi’ film. It’s a once in lifetime film for her. I appreciate Anushka for doing this movie,” he said.

Speaking about Allu Arjun as Gona Gannareddy, “It’s an appreciable thing that Bunny himself came forward to play this role, impressed with the characterization of Gona Gannareddy. Bunny has given a wonderful performance. Especially, his introduction scene is excellent. Every scene he acted was extraordinary. He has done very well.”

Dasari also praised Krishnam Raju, Prakash Raju, Rana Daggubati and everyone in the movie. He said that it is not less than Baahubali movie in terms of subject and technical features. He also said, “It’s our responsibility to encourage such films. At least 2 weeks of a gap should be given for big movies. So that it will create records. But, contrary to that, a big hero movie is going to be released immediately in the next week. I can’t understand why big films are releasing with just a week gap. I don’t understand who is getting benefited with this.

“The film is receiving good collections. It has grossed Rs 9 Crores 40 Lakhs on the first day, Rs 6 Crores 2 lakhs on the second day and more than 6 Crores on the third day. I once again congratulate the team for making such a wonderful film,” he added.
