Director Rajamouli Interested to Work in Kannada, Sets his Eyes on Sri Krishnadevaraya

Telugu director SS Rajamouli is one of the very few South Indian directors who has been delivering monster hits regularly. Sources close to the director attribute Rajamouli’s work ethics to his success. And Currently, Rajamouli is busy with the second part of Baahubali  which is titled as “Baahubali – The Conclusion” .The first part was released on 10 July and it emerged as the biggest South Indian hit. The first part “Baahubali-The Beginning” was made with a budget of Rs 130 crore and the makers will spend Rs 120 crore for the second.

Now In a special interview to Public TV,  Rajamouli revealed that even before he planned “Baahubali”, he wanted to make a movie on Sri Krishnadevaraya. Though it failed to materialise, he is still interested. And he also stated that the inspiration for the film came from the classic Kannada film, “Sri Krishnadevaraya”. It had Rajkumar, Bharathi and Jayanthi in the lead roles, and was directed by legendary filmmaker B R Panthulu.

As Rajamouli had also expressed his interest in making a movie on the epic, Mahabharatha so he is not sure when the project is going to happen.

Baahubali-The Beginning  is running successfully in limited screens in most of the key centres. It was released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi. All the four versions have done well at the box office. The producer is still reaping profits with grossing close to Rs 550 crore worldwide.
