South Indian actor Aditi Gautam who makes her Bollywood debut in Ranbir Kapoor starrer ‘Sanju’ says it was a difficult task for her to refer to Ranbir as bhaiya on the sets of the film while shooting.

Aditi’s who essays the role of Sanjay’s younger sister Priya’s role in the film had no option but to call Ranbir big brother since the latter plays Sanjay Dutt in the film.

“It was difficult to call him bhaiya on the sets while shooting,” quipped Aditi while talking to Dainik Bhaskar.

Aditi who hails from Mumbai has done a few south Indian films where she took on the pseudo name of Seiya. Unfortunately, when news about her started circulating it got published by the name of Aditi Seiya. “My real name is Aditi Gautam. I am a Mumbai girl, with a mixture of Punjabi and Kashmiri blood.”

It was last year when Aditi first received a call for ‘Sanju’s audition. “I got a call from Mukesh Chabra’s office to do an audition. I still remember the scene very well.  It was a tragic one. I performed it and went back. When I didn’t receive any call for the next two-three days I thought that I have not been selected. Then one day, Mukesh called and asked me to come to Raju sir’s office for a look test. That is when it dawned on me that I have been selected. It sounded too good to be true and I was overwhelmed.”

Talking about the preparations that she had to put in to play Priya, Aditi said, “I watched her videos, interviews and her style of speaking. I had to de-glam my look for the role, because Priya ma’am is very simple in real life. I had to change my hairdo to look like her. Raju sir also gave me a lot of inputs on what I should do to get my part right. On the first day of the shoot, Raju sir sent my pictures to Priya ma’am and she said that I look exactly like her. That was a big compliment.”

Aditi is also all praises for Ranbir’s work ethics. “Everyone bonded well on the sets without any starry airs. As far as Ranbir is concerned, he is a brilliant actor. There was an emotional scene which he performed in a single take. That sole volumes about his talent,” shared Aditi before signing off.
