Anushka Shetty’s much-talked-of female-centric film “Rudramadevi” is released on October 9th, 2015 and has done a superb collection at the box office in the first weekend. Directed by filmmaker Gunasekhar, Rudramadevi is a Telugu 3D historical film, which was also dubbed and released in Hindi. Starring Anushka Shetty in the lead, the film chronicles the rise of warrior queen Rudhramadevi in the Kakatiya dynasty.

‘Rudramadevi’ movie concluded the first weekend with decent collection at the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana (AP/T) box office and has approximately grossed Rs. 32 crore worldwide. (US box office collection of the film was about 3.2 crore).

“The film has opened well and according to early estimates it has grossed about Rs.32 crore in the opening weekend worldwide. The Telugu version has done exceptionally well and the film has taken a very good overseas opening as well,” trade analyst Trinath told IANS.

Having been delayed for a long time, “Rudhramadevi” was released in 1,000 cinema halls across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on 9 October.
