Short Film ‘Jai Hind’: Raveena Tandon & Manoj Bajpayee Will Remind You The Value Of Independence

It has been 68 years India had got freedom from the British. There had been many differences and lot of changes had been done in India. But there are few aspects in which India can’t change itself. Every Indian is responsible for this to happen. Bollywood actors Manoj Bajpayee and Raveena Tandon had come together to do a short film which shows you the domination on Indians.

With a lovely message of Independence and a feeling of patriotism, this short film had been shot. The name of the short film is ‘Jai Hind’. The director of the short film is Vinay Jaiswal and his aim is to deliver the message, how our lives would have been, had we been still ruled by some other country. The story was in abroad.

Now Bollywood actors are doing short films one after the other. Earlier Radhika Apte appeared in Sujoy Ghosh’s short ‘Ahalya’. The story of Jai Kind goes like this. Bajpayee and Tandon are middle-class married couple and making dinner plans for the day. They were travelling on a motorcycle, a car collides them on a busy road.

The car driver instead of getting out and helping them, he comments them and says “Bloody Indian!” in anger before driving off. Thus Manoj Bajpayee asks for help but no one does. He takes his wife to a nearby restaurant and gives her water to drink. The hotel manager says his security boys to take them out of the restaurant.

Thus the security does the same and hence the moral comes. The film, directed by Vinay Jaiswal is to evoke some national pride and remind us of the value of independence that our great leaders fought for. The film does make you think of what our freedom fighters must have felt, being subjected to racism in our country. The film has been made to make you feel lucky that you were born in an India without the inequality and racism that Indians faced 68 years ago.
