First-Time Drug Dealer Is Arrested By The Police 10 Minutes After He Started Selling Cocaine

Your first job is not always the one that you expected, and sometimes the experience is not good for us, well, most of us I would prefer to say.

The same thing happened to a man in England.

A first-time drug dealer was arrested by the authorities 10 minutes after he started to sell drugs.

Zico Oldham, from Mexborough, England, was spotted acting weird with 2 men on November 20, 2019.

Prosecutor Brian Outhwaite told Sheffield Crown Court how the 20-year-old criminal, who was 19 when the incident happened, had £90 in cash and a total of £610 of heroin and cocaine.

2 mobile phones, which include a drug line phone, were seized by the authorities.

The defendant pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

Joy Merriam, Mitigating, said that the boy was immature and was new to the area.

Merriam said that the family of the boy believes their child was set up because he was caught within 10 minutes or 15 minutes after the incident.

Joy said:

His mother wonders if he was set up as he was caught with ten or 15 minutes. He has never come to the notice of the police before and pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity. A suspended prison sentence would be sufficient to meet the justice of the situation. He has not offended since and is at low risk of offending again.

Judge Roger Thomas QC said that he found that the boy went to do the act on their own.

Judge Thomas said:

You quite clearly went into this offending with your eyes wide open and on an entirely voluntary basis. You chose to become a drug dealer in a park in Mexborough that is seemingly notorious for drug dealing. You don’t use drugs. You are a fit and healthy young man. You wanted to put some money into your pocket. There’s quite a lot about your case that’s difficult to understand. This is out-and-out drug dealing.

The 20-year-old boy was given a 27-month sentence in detention in a Young Offenders Institution.
