Father Spends More Than 30 Hours On Getting Tattoo Of Son’s Birthmark To Help Him Feel Better
A kind father spent over 30 hours on getting a tattoo, which is the birthmark of his son, in order to help his son feel better.
Derek Prue Sr, who is from Stony Plain, Alberta, said his son was really conscious about the brown birthmark that they have on their torso.
He said he got the idea from there and started to do something about them.
The man noticed that the youngster did not want to take off their t-shirt when they would go out swimming.
During an interview with Global News, Derek, the father of the boy, said:
He was always proud of his birthmark and then I saw he started to kind of cover it up. I think he was maybe a little bit self-conscious about it. I wanted to get the same thing so he wouldn’t be the only one.
The man ended up doing something that no one of us would ever think of.
Derek visited the Juicy Quill Tattoo to get a tattoo, which is the same as the birthmark his son has on his torso.
The man got more than he bargained after realizing that it would take around 30 hours to get the tattoo on his torso.
Recalling the moment, the man said:
I thought it was going to be a one session kind of thing. But three hours turned into about 30 hours. So it’s been a bit of a process. The first sitting, I think, was close to four hours. And I didn’t really look to see what was going on. So I thought at the end of four hours it was done. So I said, ‘Is it almost done?’ and he said, ‘I’m almost done with the outline’.
The man said the pain was worth it, especially considering that his son feels better.
The hard work and pain were worth it after he got to show the work off to Derek Jr. during a recent visit to their local pool.
Talking about the moment he took off his t-shirt, the man said:
I just kind of took my shirt off. He was wearing his shirt. I showed him that I had the exact same mark as him.
After seeing the matching marking on his father’s torso, the kid was really happy.
Derek then encouraged taking off his t-shirt so they could compare the birthmark and tattoo.
All that, so his son could feel better!
