HTC Announced One A9 and Desire 828 Dual SIM for India, Price to be Revealed in Two Weeks!

HTC, the Taiwanese smartphone makers has finally announced the much-awaited HTC One A9 smartphone for the Indian market.  HTC announced its first handset, HTC One A9 with Android Marshmallow update alongside the Desire 828 Dual SIM, which was a mid-range smartphone which was launched for the Chinese markets. HTC One A9 smartphone is the first smartphone among the other Google’s own Nexus line smartphones to feature company’s Android Marshmallow software at launch.

It is the first regular-sized HTC phone to come equipped with a fingerprint sensor, which is a feature that  already supported on phones manufactured by giant rivals Apple and Samsung. Now, HTC One A9 has got that update prior to the launch of the smartphone in India. HTC seems to expand its smartphone portfolio in the country with the launch of two new smartphones. The company has completely focused on manufacturing smartphones in order to provide customizable experience for the customers. Earlier this month, the company has launched HTC Desire 728G smartphone in India with pretty good specs.

Specifications of HTC One A9

HTC launched a new smartphone called HTC One A9 that certainly needs no debut. The HTC One A9 has become very popular due to the fact that the device looks quite similar to the Apple iPhone 6 and 6s. Yet, HTC has probed into the details and upon a closer look, users will notice the variations between the two devices.

The HTC One A9 features a 5-inch full HD display with 1920×1080 pixel resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. The device is powered by a 1.5GHz 64-bit Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor paired with 3GB RAM. On the storage front, the handset comes with 32GB internal storage which can be further expandable up to 2TB via microSD card. The HTC One A9 runs Android 6.0 with HTC Sense UI out of the box. The company has stated that the phone will receive Android updates no later than 15 days after Nexus updates.

On the camera front, the smartphone comes equipped with a 13 MP rear camera along with a f/2.0 aperture, BSI sensor behind it with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) running the show. The company claims that primary camera sports sapphire lens for the cover. The device comes with a 4 MP front-facing camera that is similar to its previous smartphone, One M9. The handset is backed by a 2150mAh battery that also comes with 4G support. In terms of Connectivity, the device supports usual connectivity options that include 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

HTC also launched the HTC Desire 828, a mid-range handset that becomes the first smartphone in its Desire series to feature Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS). The device features a 5.5 inch Full HD display with 1920×1080 pixel resolution. The handset is powered by a 1.5 GHz MediaTek MT6753 SoC processor which is coupled with 2 GB of RAM. In terms of Storage, the smartphone comes with 16 GB of internal storage which can be further expandable via a micro SD card slot.

The HTC Desire 828 comes equipped with a 13 MP rear snapper with OIS unit on the back along with LED flash, OIS, BSI sensor, and also supports full-HD video recording. The device packs an UltraPixel unit on the front with a BSI sensor. The HTC Desire 828 is a Dual-SIM handset that supports 4G. The handset is fueled by a 2800 mAh battery and runs Android 5.1.1 with HTC Sense UI loaded on top. The smartphone packs with usual sensors that include ambient light, accelerometer, compass, and magnetic sensors.

Price and Availability

During the company’s launch event in New Delhi, Chia-Lin Chang, President of Global Sales at HTC, said, “We are estimating that the devices will come to the country in two weeks which is when we shall reveal the pricing and availability as there might be a surprise for buyers.” 

HTC has announced that both the smartphones, HTC One A9 and HTC Desire 828 will go on sale in December. The company however not yet revealed the price tags of both the handsets. Both smartphones will arrive in India by December, i.e., within two weeks and it has also announced that there will be some kind of surprise for the buyers.
