Huawei, the Chinese Telecom company announced its partnership with Zopper, a local marketplace for consumer durables and household appliances. Honor, which is a sub-brand of Huawei has tied up with the mobile commerce firm, Zopper to start offline sales of Honor smartphones in India. Until now, Huawei Honor smartphones were only available for purchase online in India, on the giant e-commerce portals such as Flipkart and Snapdeal. On Tuesday, the company has officially announced its partnership with Zopper to sell Honor devices via retail stores to strengthen its market share in India.

This tie-up with a local marketplace indicates that the Honor brand will go offline in India. The Chinese company has launched some of the smartphone models in various ranges that include Honor Bee and Honor 4C in the entry level, Honor 4X, Honor 6 and Honor Holly in the mid-range segment and other two models, Honor 6 plus and Honor 7 in the premium segment.

Allen Wang, Huawei India President of Consumer Business Group, said in a statement, “We have decided to introduce Honor smartphones in the offline sales channel, which starts with the tie-up with Zopper, which allow customers to choose the retailer offering the best price for a product.”

Zopper is an app that enables a customer to choose the retailer with the best price for a product from over 10,000 online and offline retailers. The app provides to the urban mobile-savvy consumer, who looks for the best local deals through pricing and product comparison.

Honor in collaboration with the offline local marketplace, Zopper hopes to reach out to 267 outlets in different places in India such as Delhi NCR (Gurgaon, Faridabad), Chennai, Vellore, Pondicherry, and Bengaluru. Through this partnership, customers can also avail a 5 percent cashback on Honor smartphones till  December 24, along with a free One-year accidental damage and liquid damage bundled with all Huawei smartphones bought through Zopper.

It has also announced that the products which are available online would be sold at the same prices. The  cashback offer is applicable only against purchases of Honor 6 and Honor 4x smartphones. Honor 4x will be priced at Rs 9,999 for both Black and White variants and Honor 6 will be available at Rs. 14,999. Maximum cashback amount per transaction is 5% of invoice value or Rs. 750 whichever is less.
