55-Year-Old Woman Gives Birth To Her Own Grandchild Because Her Daughter Was Born Without A Womb

31-year-old Tracey Smith from Lampeter thought that she will never give birth to a child after her parents found out that she had missing reproductive organs when she was 15-years-old. They found this as she did not start her period.

55-year-old Emma Miles, her mother, always said that she will do anything to help Tracey have a child, and 9 weeks ago, Emma gave birth to her own granddaughter, Baby Evie who weighs 7 pounds.

The 55-year-old Grand Mum had to lose 6 stones and had to take hormone tabs in order to prepare for the pregnancy.

One of Tracey’s fertilized eggs was placed in her womb by using IVF.

Tracey Smith said that she took the offer of her mom after she got engaged to Adam.

Tracey said, “When I was diagnosed it tipped my world upside down. I was heartbroken at the idea that I wouldn’t carry my own child. I’d always known that I wanted to be a mum, even at 15. Straight after my diagnosis, Mum made an offer to do what she could to help. I knew that she meant one day she’d carry my child for me. Over the years she mentioned it in passing but we never really made a firm plan.”

She added, “It was only after I met Adam and we got engaged in 2016 that he broached the subject of children. I remembered Mum’s promise to me. So the next time we met up I asked her if she’d been serious about carrying our baby. I was delighted when she replied: ‘Of course I was.’ She had just been waiting for me to ask.”

At first, Adam and Tracey were considering a surrogacy agency, but the laws in the United Kingdom say that surrogate mothers do get parental rights from birth.

Adam and Tracey are now adopting Evie. Emma, the mother of Tracey said she is willing to go through everything again if her daughter wants Evie to have a sibling.

Evie said, “Despite my age, I wasn’t worried about giving birth at all. All of my focus has been about doing this special thing for my daughter. Tracey is my baby and I did it all for her to be a mother.”

She added, “Now I’m glad to be back to work and getting back to normal. But I have offered to do it all again if they ever want a little brother or sister for Evie.”
