Wife And Stepsons Charged And Arrested For The Murder Of Malaysian CEO Nazrin Hassan

The wife and 2 stepsons of Nazrin Hassan, a former CEO of a Malaysian Company were arrested and charged after having a link in his murder that happened in 2018.

Nazrin Hassan was a CEO of the Cradle Fund Sendirian Berhan, a company that is owned by the Malaysian government, the sole purpose of the company is to seed money to tech startups. Nazrin Hassan was found dead inside his bedroom in June 2018, he had burn marks all over his body.

The death of Nazrin Hassan was blamed on a fire that was caused by the explosions of his cellphone that was charging, but investigators did not find that as a reason of his death, they also found traces of gasoline in the place where Nazrin was found dead.  The body of Nazrin was sent for a second autopsy and on Monday indictment of Samirah Muzaffar and her 2 sons from her first marriage.

The 2 boys are minors and are not allowed to be identified, their ages are 13 and 16.

A former maid in the household of Nazrin Hassan was also charged in absentia with his murder. No plea has been recorded in a local court, the case will be automatically transferred to the High Court of Malaysia. Samirah Muzaffar and the maid can face death sentence if they are convicted in the murder case, the 2 sons who are minors can escape the gallows. The Government of Malaysia said that it does have plans to abolish the capital punishment for crimes and has put all the death sentences in their country on hold.
