Gunmen stormed into a drug rehabilitation center in Mexico and opened fire, which left 24 people dead and 7 fightings for their lives.

According to reports, the incident happened in central Mexico at an unregistered drug center.

3 of the 7 people that sustained injuries from the attack are in a critical condition.

According to The Guardian, the incident happened in Irapuato City, which is located in the state of Guanajuato.

Guanajuato is in the middle of a turf battle between the Jalisco Cartel and a local gang.

It is still not known which gang or cartel carried out the heartless attack.

Rehab centers are mainly targeted in the country to control the drug business.

Diego Sinhué Rodríguez, a Governor, released a statement about the incident and said:

I deeply regret and condemn the events in Irapuato this afternoon. The violence generated by organized crime not only takes the lives of the young, but it takes the peace from families in Guanajuato.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the diseased.
