Yesvantpur-Tatanagar Superfast Express Train Catches Fire and Causes Delay In Andhra Pradesh Railway Services

A Yesvantpur-Tatanagar Superfast Express Train catches fire at the eastern part of the Godavari District in Andhra Pradesh. The train personnel separated the pantry car to stop the fire from spreading. Everyone aboard the train is safe and no injuries have been reported.

The fire broke out by 2 AM in the morning, the officials are still investigating and are trying to find the cause of the fire.

The pantry car of the Yesvantpur-Tatanagar Superfast Express was heavily damaged after the fire broke out. Before the staff separated the pantry car, the personnel tried to stop the fire, but their efforts were not enough.

A spokesperson from the South Central Railway said that the train was stopped after the personnel of the train notices the flames, the spokesperson added that the personnel also switched off the overhead power supply.

The train was traveling to Jharkhand and was from Karnataka, the capital of Bengaluru.

Trains that were on the same route were advised to stop immediately. As a result of the stoppage, trains from the Vijawada Vizag Sector had to be delayed. After the fire was controlled the railway services were started again.

  • Secunderabad-Bhubaneswar Visakha Express

Railway Officials and Police Officials are now investigating to find out what caused the fire in the car.

A separate coach had to be attached at Vishakhapatnam to accommodate the passengers that were affected by the incident. The railway services were continued after some time.
